Journeys Residential Homes was established in 2024 and became licensed in 2025, opening its doors to individuals seeking supportive, home-like environments where they can grow, develop independence, and become active members of their communities.
Based in Chesterfield County, Virginia, Journeys Residential Homes operates supportive living homes and programs designed around person-centered care, creative expression, independence, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
The organization provides individualized support to individuals with disabilities, helping them navigate daily life while encouraging participation in both the home and the broader community. Journeys Residential Homes believes that every individual is on a unique journey and deserves to feel supported, valued, encouraged, and empowered.
Under the leadership of founder Juanita Washington, Journeys Residential Homes is committed to creating communities where individuals can build confidence, develop meaningful skills and relationships, and pursue their own goals.
The vision is simple: to create supportive communities where people are given the opportunity to thrive and become the best version of themselves.
Mission Statement
Journeys Residential Homes LLC is a community-based residential program committed to serving and enriching the lives of those individuals who have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability (ID) or developmental disability (DD). The program of Journeys Residential Homes LLC is based on our core values and belief that each individual deserves to be loved, treated with respect and dignity, be self-motivated, and be recognized as a valued member of the human race as well as the community. The purpose of Journeys Residential Homes LLC is to offer a structured program of care designed to meet our individuals' physical and emotional needs by providing protection, guidance, and supervision that meet the objectives of their required service plan. Journeys Residential Homes LLC will follow the Office of Human Rights, amongst other offices, regulations to further define and protect the rights of individuals receiving services.
